                        DUPEE                                    05/12

I am looking for the parents of my great-great grandmother, Emma DUPEE.  She was born in
Champlain on 20 Sep 1862 and baptized at St. Mary’s on 30 Sep 1862.  She first married Alexander
LAFOUNTAIN who was much older than she.  They had at least 3 children (Oscar, Anna and
Alexander Jr.) prior to his death on 10 Oct 1891 at Champlain.  She then married Peter
LAPINE
who was also much older.  They had at least 8 children (Lucy, Louise, Gideon, Frederick, Rosanna,
Henry, Raymond and Arthur).  After Peter died on 26 Feb 1913, she married Moses
BOURCIER on
26 Sep 1916 at Mooers Forks which is a mystery marriage as no one seems to recall this this
husband but I have found the marriage record.  To add to the mystery, the 1920 census lists Emma
as living with her husband Peter who had died 7 years earlier.  After Moses died, she married
Joseph
DUSHANE at Mooers on 29 Jun 1922.  Emma was much older than Joseph and he outlived
her.  Emma died at Perrys Mills on 6 Jun 1942.

Emma’s baptism and death record gives her parents as Louis
DUPEE and Louise DUPEE.  Her
obituary also gives a sister, Mrs. Joseph
IVES, who was Angeline DUPEE.  She was born at
Champlain on 19 Apr 1880 and died in Plattsburgh on 14 Mar 1955.  Angeline had first been married
to Henry
CARDINAL.  Angeline’s death certificate lists her parents as Louis DUPEE and Louise
LAROE.  After some digging, I found Louise had married Alfred LAROE at Champlain on 20 Nov
1886.  I also found Alfred and Louise in the 1892 New York State census living at Champlain with a
daughter from her marriage to Louis.  Her name was Amelia and she was born about 1878.  Louise's
age on this census indicates she was born in Quebec about 1847.  I have not been able to find any
record of Louis and Louise
DUPEE, the parents of Emma, Amelia and Angeline, anywhere.  I have
also seen Louis listed as Oliver
DUPEE on Angeline’s marriage record to Henry CARDINAL.
Does anyone have any information to help me get through this brick wall?

   BOMBARD - LABOMBARD - LAVALLEY                08/11

I’m looking for a death date and an obituary for Howard Bombard.  He was born March 5, 1896, in
Vergennes, VT.  His parents were Peter
Labombard and Almira Danyow Lavalley (2nd
marriage).  He was married to Mattie
Taylor on June 5, 1920, at St. John the Baptist in Keeseville.
Mattie remarried (to
Muncil) after he died, and her obituary states that Howard died in 1942.  His
name could be listed as either
Bombard or Labombard.
I received some info from Bev Farrington on the Bombard forum of Genforum indicating that there
is a Howard F.
Bombard buried in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Keeseville (plot A1).  His
death date is listed as June 14, 1943, so I don’t know if this is the same person or not.  Could
someone check the burial records for more info?
I’ve also checked the website for the Northern New York historical newspapers.  There was
information on Howard and other family members in various newspaper issues, but nothing
regarding his death.  There was a legal notice indicating a foreclosure on their house in 1939, so
perhaps the family moved away for a time.

DERUSHA - CAMPBELL - ALEXANDRE - BOMBARDIER      08/13

I am searching for information on my great great grandfather, Elezar
Derusha (1824-1882).
He was married to Emelie (Permilla)
Campbell, daughter of Antoine Campbell and
Emile
Alexandre.
The family is found in the 1850 and 1860 census living in Alburg, VT, with their 3 children,
Eliza (1851-1926), Thomas (1854-1930) and Edgar ( 1857-1929).
Elexar's possible New York connection is as follows:
Emelie's first husband was Antoine
Bombardier, and he has 3 children,
Antoine, Joseph and Amalia.
Antoine
LaBombarde was born in Canada about 1821 and died May 6, 1846, buried in Alburg, VT.
The record is at St. Joseph's Corbeau, Coopersville, NY -
burial in the presence of Charles
Bombardier.
One source lists his spouse as Emelie Campbell.
Family lore has it that Elexar was part Indian. Research has shown that some
Desrochers were
from the area of the Indian Lands in Glengarry County, Ontario.
I would be grateful for any information you might have.
